I first started training with Hugh after recovering from an ACL injury in 2005.  I was looking  to improve my running mechanics and speed work to help with my overall performance.

Hugh helped me achieve great results and I saw a huge improvement in speed and movement which I believe helped create the opportunities I had been hoping for to play at a higher level and to also take my own game to another level.

Hugh is a tough coach and always demands 100% commitment but in return his own dedication to writing and preparing successful programs is exemplary and that’s never changed over the years.  By working closely with me and other professionals in my medical team, there is no doubt Hugh has greatly contributed to my overall improvements and career success.

Due to numerous relocations I see him less often than I would like, but whenever we do meet the quality of his training and the commitment he demands from me has never lessened and neither has his own dedication and work ethic.

Hugh has been my coach and mentor for five and a half years. It was through his hard work, commitment and professionalism that I was able to go from an being an average triple jump athlete to an international athlete competing for Scotland.

Hugh developed my speed, strength, co-ordination, movement skills and technique, along with a very detailed prehab/rehab program which allowed me to compete year after year with very little injury, but most importantly at a very high standard. Hugh was able to keep me motivated throughout the years with his research into different training methods, meaning sessions remained varied and interesting.

I’ve been coached by Hugh since I was around 14. Initially this was to help with general speed and overall fitness for rugby.  There is no doubt that I have improved in these areas over the years.

In recent times, while still developing speed and fitness as well as moving onto strength work, Hugh has helped me with rehabilitation. This being in terms of knocks after games and with problems I have had with my hip and shoulder in the past.

At 19 I am now at a level in rugby where I have been offered contracts in Europe and played in the top league in Scotland. With speed I have consistently been the fastest in testing, this including whilst being in other countries throughout Europe and New Zealand.

I fully feel that my training with Hugh has helped greatly in reaching this level. From speed and fitness on the pitch to quick recovery after games.

I have been working with Hugh for some time since an injury forced me to stop triathlon training. At that time I was desperate, pretty miserable and very unfit having spent the last 12 months trying everything I could think of to resolve the issue without success. He has fully assessed any potential cause for my injury by carrying out the most in depth functional assessment I have ever seen, looked at my running mechanics and developed a specific programme to improve any deficits.

Hugh has taken me from doing nothing at all to completely changing my running style, doing a huge amount of training that I never thought I would manage again, massively improving my strength and flexibility and getting me into the best condition I could be in for surgery. His all encompassing knowledge of anatomy and biomechanics plus his own athletic history give him the credibility which allows me to trust his judgement completely and simply do what he asks me to do even if it may at times appear a little ‘off the wall’!

I have never worked as hard but I feel as though I am back training again, taxing both my brain and my body equally and have my feel-good endorphins flowing. He has been a great support during my post-surgery rehabilitation and I am highly excited about starting to run again very soon.

My son has been training with Hugh for almost two years and through Hugh’s excellent guidance and specifically developed training sessions, has now improved his co-ordination and movement patterns greatly.

Before I met Hugh, I was just a talented, but unguided athlete trying to become a professional American Football player. After my first year being coached by Hugh, I shattered all my personal bests and was being considered as one of the top players in the UK.

During my 2nd year I received invites to NFL camps in Europe and I ran the fastest 40yrd dash out of 2000 European players ! He had turned me into a machine! He had got me into professional shape in just 2 short years and I was at the peak of my career, but sadly the way into the NFL closed down in Europe. However to this day I pass all his knowledge onto my other team mates in the EK Pirates who are now ranked no. 3 team in the UK.
